End-User VR
By User VR we mean the VR headsets that would be used to run the resulting VR courses.
PaleBlue Trainer is using Unity XR Interaction Toolkit for interfacing with VR hardware, and therefore supports the VR headsets supported by the toolkit - that means pretty much any headset, PC-based and Standalone.
Supported
- Windows
- HTC Vive and Vive Pro
- Oculus Rift S
- Meta Quest
- Oculus Quest
- Meta Quest 2
- HTC Vive Focus
- HTC Vive Focus Plus
- HTC Vive Focus 3
Partially supported
The following are not fully configured in terms of button mappings and controller looks, but can be made to run with some configuration
- Window
- HP Reverb G2 and other Windows Mixed Reality headsets
- Valve Index
- Pico
- Pico Neo 2
- Pico Neo 3
For each type of headset, input mappings need to be added into the project.
Input mappings can be configured by going to Project Settings → PaleBlue → Controllers.
Editor VR
By Editor VR we mean the VR headsets that are used by Unity users (VR course developers).
To develop and test your VR courses in Unity, you’d need any headset that supports desktop VR, for example.
Currently supported
- Oculus Quest in Link mode
- Oculus Rift (and Rift S)
- HP Reverb G2 and other Windows Mixed Reality headsets
- HTC Vive
Not supported yet
- Valve Index
Note that your controller button mapping will most likely differ in Unity and on end-user device.
